About Me.

Adela Pérez Galán (b. 1992) is a Mexican artist and photographer whose explorations delve into the intricate layers of identity, social structures, and cultural narratives. Raised in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, México, she embarked on her artistic journey capturing life within all-inclusive resorts. However, through the medium of documentary photography, Adela found her authentic voice, using it to express her inquiries about identity and societal dynamics.

Adela's artistic vision underwent a transformative phase, leading her to challenge conventional narratives and amplify marginalized voices. Her profound exploration of golf from a female perspective, dissecting the social and cultural constructs inherent in the sport, is a testament to her unique perspective. Through her lens, she revealed vulnerability and reshaped female identity within the sport, leaving a lasting impact on societal narratives.

In September 2023, Adela's dedication and talent were recognized when she earned a Master of Arts in Documentary Photography from the prestigious University of South Wales. Her work, which had already begun to make waves in the art world, was showcased at the Bienal'23 Fotografia do Porto, themed 'Atos de Empatia.' This global platform allowed her to share her distinctive perspective with a wide audience, a testament to her achievements and the impact of her work.

Residing on a Caribbean island in México, Adela draws inspiration from the rhythms of nature and local culture. Committed to artistic evolution, she plans to experiment with alternative techniques to craft more intimate and immersive works of art.
